BARB MORGIN
Since 1986 Barb Morgin has been part of the driving force of the Morgin Team. Originally she served as the inside customer service specialist for clients and by 1990 was a licensed Realtor. Barb has worked to be one of only 5 Realtors in NW Indiana to earn 4 REALTOR designations. These designations include:
- GRI: Graduate Realtor Institute – 3 consecutive years of classes to achieve
- CRS: Certified Residential Specialist – 120 hours of in class education along with completing 75 total transactions
- CRB: Certified Real Estate Brokerage – Must manage an office for 10 years, take 220 hours of in class education, and complete 125 transactions
- ABR: Accredited Buyer Representation – Must complete 35 transactions representing buyers only along with 16 hours of in class education
Along with nearly unmatched knowledge, Barb has been involved as Past President of the Greater NW Indiana Multiple Listing Service, Past President of the Jasper/Newton County Community Foundation, as well as past officer of the Newton County Community Services.
According to the National Association of REALTORS, the average Broker is involved in the sale of 11 properties per year; the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors reports the average Broker in Northwest Indiana is involved in the sale of 12 properties per year. Barb averages 36.33 sales per year. This is just an average. Barb closed 40 properties in 2013, 37 properties in 2014, and 32 properties in 2015!
Franchise vs non-Franchise?
The National Association of Realtors no longer keeps track of the number of Franchise and non-Franchised offices. As a past owner of 3 Franchise offices throughout NW Indiana, Barb knows the personal service is better without the franchise name. When you are part of a franchise, the attitude of the Broker is that the client doesn’t count and that the money from the transaction is more important. Brokers have to pay fees to the franchise every month and they have quotas to make. Barb, an independent realtor, thinks the client is the most important. Barb focuses on the people involved. When you do the best job you can, that is the reward.
Remember: 30 years of Real Estate knowledge, 4 more designations than the average Realtor and 3 times the sales is no guarantee in buying and selling but gives you the greatest opportunity to achieve your goals at no extra cost.
